Privacy Policy

Last updated August 7, 2026

This policy describes how Over Count handles information in the mobile app and on this site. It is written in plain language so you can understand what we collect and why.

Who we are

Over Count ("we", "us", or "our") is a cricket scoring and community rankings app for Android. This Privacy Policy explains what information we handle when you use the Over Count mobile app and this website (overcount.app).

Information we collect

Depending how you use Over Count, we may process:

  • Account details — name, email address, and authentication credentials when you create an account. Passwords are transmitted securely and stored hashed on our servers; we do not keep them in plain text.
  • Profile & team data — team names, logos, squad membership, player profiles you create or claim, and optional player contact details you enter for your teams.
  • Match & scoring data — challenges, playing XIs, deliveries, scorecards, results, milestones, and format rankings that come from matches you participate in or make global.
  • Device & session data — an auth token kept on your device in secure storage so you stay signed in, plus routine technical information needed to run the app (for example app version and device OS).
  • Advertising identifiers — Google Mobile Ads may receive advertising identifiers and similar device data to serve ads. Banner and interstitial ads in Over Count are requested as non-personalized ads where the SDK supports that option.

You can browse global matches and rankings without an account. Signing in is required to create teams, challenge others, and score matches.

How we use information

  • Provide, maintain, and improve scoring, challenges, rankings, and scorecards.
  • Authenticate your account and protect it against unauthorized access.
  • Show match history, player stats, and milestones you and your teams earn.
  • Display ads that help keep Over Count free to use.
  • Respond to support or privacy requests you send us.
  • Comply with applicable law and enforce our terms of use.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:

  • Other users — team names, match results, scorecards, and rankings shown in the app (including matches marked global) are visible to other Over Count users as part of the product.
  • Service providers — infrastructure and hosting partners that process data solely to run Over Count for us.
  • Google AdMob — to show ads. Google’s use of data is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy.
  • Legal requirements — if we must disclose information to comply with law, regulation, or a valid legal request.

Data retention

We keep account and app data while your account is active and as needed to operate Over Count. Match and team records that involve other users may be retained after you leave so other teams’ history stays intact. For details on account deletion, see Delete your account.

Your choices

  • Update your profile information from inside the app.
  • Delete your account from Profile → Delete Account. Instructions are also on our account deletion page.
  • Control ads personalization with your device settings (for example Google’s ad settings on Android) and limit ad tracking where the OS allows.
  • Contact us at zayamkana000@gmail.com for access, correction, or other privacy questions.

Security

We use industry-standard practices such as HTTPS for API traffic and secure on-device storage for auth tokens. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please use a strong unique password for your Over Count account.

Children

Over Count is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of Over Count after an update means you accept the revised policy.
